Family Fun Activities and Attractions in Williamsburg
Colonial
Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown are the most well-known living history
experiences in Greater Williamsburg. Ziplining, segway excursions, exhilarating
roller coasters, and even a hint of ghostly goosebumps are all options. We
teamed up with Visit Williamsburg to offer you seven of our favorite things to
do in Williamsburg and the surrounding region.
One
of Virginia's most famous tourist destinations, Williamsburg is the ideal
hideaway for a modest vacation with great attractions. Families from all over
the world discover that Williamsburg is a unique holiday destination with a
choice.
They
are searching for fun, adventure, or education—or all three. Show your kids
what Williamsburg is all about by bringing them to some of the area's exciting
activities and attractions for both young and old.
Fun with History
It
wouldn't be a Williamsburg visit without walking through Colonial Williamsburg,
where you'll quickly feel transported back in time. Walking around this
18th-century reconstructed city, you'll see men, women, and children costumed
in colonial garb.Of course, you've already booked your Direct flights from Delhi to USA for your vacation.
They
are constantly asking for a helping hand from the young visitors to share their
lives and tales with you and your family at Colonial Williamsburg. Visit the
James Anderson Blacksmith Shop and experience the heat, loudness, grime, and
dust off an authentic blacksmith shop.
The
Jamestown Settlement in Colonial Williamsburg is an excellent place for
youngsters to explore and learn.
As
you go around the Powhatan Indian Village, your kid will learn more about
Pocahontas and her fellow tribe members. The Jamestown Settlement offers five
distinct Kids' Museum Guides.
Go Ape Treetop Adventure Park
- We are
not a family that avoids high ropes courses. The girls' bravery high above
the ground on thin ropes amazes me.
- The
adventure culminates in a thrilling 600 ft zip line.
- Go Ape
in Williamsburg, VA, has a 20-foot junior adventure course with two zip
lines.
- We
could relax and watch the females go round and round.
- The
adult course has a minimum age of 10. We stuck to the junior system
because of Savannah's age and time constraints.
- Parents,
take your kids around the junior course once and then let them go. Because
it's a junior course, the upper cable is low and can obstruct your
crossings and rub your back.
- It adds
to the adventure as you feel less stable walking across some crossings.
Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Busch
Gardens Williamsburg is a must-see for thrill-seekers looking for activities to
do in Williamsburg, VA, with kids. They have too many roller coasters to count.
Amusement Today named The Griffon, Alpengeist, and Apollo's Chariot among the
finest in the nation.
Busch
Gardens Virginia had just opened for the season when we came, and we were lucky
to have mild weather and little people. I think it's one of our favorite US
theme parks. The concept is vintage Europe with beautifully manicured towns
evoking Parisian streets, Scottish hamlets, and German Oktoberfest. This theme
has nine villages focused on six countries to visit.
Plus Go-Karts
NASCAR
and Formula One's fans buckle up and press the pedal to the metal. At Go-Karts
Plus, it's time to live out your racing vehicle fantasy. It's a family-friendly
thrill coaster park and one of Williamsburg's best things to do with kids.
There's more excitement for the whole family here than Go-Kart racing. But I'll
go into more detail about it in a later article. Let's concentrate on the
excitement of the race for the sake of this article.
Super
Stocks is a kind of NASCAR event on a high-banked oval circuit. For most of the
race, Savannah and I were neck and neck with Craig and Kalyra, and Savannah and
I could locate an open place on the last curve and pull ahead to take the
victory. The Figure 8 circuit is more Grand Prix-style, with vehicles racing
around bends and over and under a bridge in a race against other cars.
Water Country in the United States of America
Are
you looking for wet-and-wild activities in Williamsburg, Virginia? Water
Country USA is a 43-acre park specializing in waterslide thrill rides and is
one of the country's biggest water parks. You know you're going to scream your
way through the wet zone with titles like Jet Scream, Big Daddy Falls, and
Colossal Curl.
Water
Country USA has not yet opened for the summer season, so we didn't get to go.
There aren't simply adrenaline waterslides at the park; there's also a relaxed
pace to enjoy. Take a free-floating river trip to take in the vistas, cool down
in the wave pool, or explore the park's KIDsiderate® water playgrounds.Flights to
India from NYC delays
can happen, and it's conceivable that you and your family may be affected.
Kayaking
The
York and James Rivers and tidal streams flowing to the Chesapeake Bay encircle
the Greater Williamsburg region. What better way to take it all in than from
the comfort of a kayak's low seat? Bay Country Kayaking offers narrated, guided
trips at New Quarter Park and other nearby sites where you can learn about the
history and fauna. Keep your eyes out for otters, muskrat, crabs, and deer.
Kayak
rentals are available at the James City County Marina on the historic Powhatan
Creek, behind Jamestown Island and across from Jamestown Settlement. You could
view bald eagles and osprey and great blue herons.
Tours on Segways
I
don't believe anybody will ever forget their first Segway ride. Learning to
balance, lean forward, and make it move is an experience in itself. After that,
we were traveling on a Segway is a beautiful way to
explore or just cruise beach forest, as we have done on prior occasions.
The
picturesque York River trip begins on the hill at the American Revolution
Museum in Yorktown and ends at the National Park Service visitor center near
Yorktown Battlefield.
